Serve Ramen With Us!

  • Community Involvement

Join us serving fresh ramen! We love having the opportunity to make new friends and serve the people of Sequim together. Our vision is to bring the community together in supporting those in need through a difficult time.

  • Flexibility

Whether you would like to volunteer once a week, or once a month- we have something for everyone! We can schedule a day that works best for you. Volunteers typically work a shift that is from 10:45am- 2:15pm.

  • Start Today!

The first step to volunteering is to get a WA State food handlers permit, which can be found through the link below.

Once completed, send an email to soupinthealley@gmail.com to speak with a manager about scheduling!

(if you’re not sure if this is the place for you, send us an email anyway and we can set up a trial date for you)

FAQs

What if my schedule isn’t consistent? Can I still volunteer?

Absolutely. We are happy to work around your availability. The Ramen Shop schedule comes out the last week of the month for the next month- so we will check in with you to see what days you are available.

If that still doesn’t work with your schedule, you can be an “substitute/back-up”- and if someone is sick we will call you last minute to see if you are available to fill in!

How old do I need to be?

Minors 16+ can volunteer unaccompanied by a parent or guardian, with a consent form signed by parent/guardian. Children younger than 16 are welcome to join their parent/guardian as they volunteer, but cannot be left unaccompanied.

What do I do if I can’t make it to my scheduled shift?

Please let Anna know as soon as possible if you will not be able to make it, so that she can find a replacement!

Do I have to have a food handler’s permit?

Yes. You have 2 weeks to get your food handler’s permit after your first day volunteering. So feel free to come give it a try, and if you would like to keep volunteering with us, get a food handler’s permit in the following 2 weeks.

Can I get community service hours for this?

Yes- if you are a high school or college student looking to earn community service hours, let us know. We are happy to track your hours and provide a signed copy when you need them.

I have another question- who can I talk to?

Feel free to send an email to our office manager Anna-

Expect a response within 2-3 business days.
